Join Carol for chair-based yoga to practice your breathing techniques, and improve your heart rate, mental focus, and relaxation.
Chair yoga is a relaxation that also energizes body and mind by connecting breath to stretches and gentle movements. This activity improves posture, flexibility, balance, strength, and mind/body awareness. It helps to promote more steadiness and confidence in one’s body along with an overall sense of well-being and peace. We will have intermittent meditative music to accompany the class and close with a brief meditation.
This program is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

The first West Indianapolis Branch opened in 1897, following the annexation of West Indianapolis into the city of Indianapolis. A new building on West Morris Street, constructed with funds from a $120,000 grant by the Andrew Carnegie Foundation, opened in 1912 and served the community until 1986, when the current 5,000-square-foot branch began service on South Kappes Street.
