Learn the basics of Gmail for email including how to register for an account, write and forward emails, add attachments, manage your inbox, and best practices for email security.

In this class, you'll learn how to manage essential email tasks, including sending, receiving, and replying to messages. We’ll also cover how to identify and handle spam, organize and delete emails, and search for specific messages.

If you need to create a new Gmail account, please bring a valid phone with you. Gmail requires a phone number for account verification, which helps prevent spam and abuse. Additionally, it provides a recovery option in case you encounter any access issues, enhancing your account's security through two-factor authentication.

This Class Is Made possible by The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

About the branch

As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
