The Polis Center has been developing reports and tools to help better understand the complexities of racial disparities as well as the cradle-to-prison pipeline in Indianapolis. On August 22 at 6 p.m., Polis Center analysts will illustrate the many ways the newly developed Indianapolis Racial Equity Report Card can help make sense of various conditions and circumstances in Indianapolis. We will share findings from the 2024 IMPD Use of Force Report we developed in partnership with Faith in Indiana. We will compare those results to findings from the Indianapolis Racial Equity Report Card in hopes of identifying trends, themes, and solutions.

As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
