Experience the excitement of live puppet theater in this original retelling of the classic Aesop's tale by Adzooks Puppets. Cheer on the Tortoise and the Hare as they learn that there are no losers when it comes to friendship. *This program will include ASL interpretation.
According to the American Society of Deaf Children (ASDC), “Research shows that reading and signing stories together helps promote essential literacy skills for ALL children: deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing.” Enjoy more signed stories by browsing our list of video read alouds in American Sign Language (ASL)! Just click on a book cover to enjoy one of the stories. To keep up-to-date on new releases and see a more complete listing, The ASDC maintains a running list of signed stories in their ASL Stories Directory. Use it to quickly find stories by a child’s age or by the book’s title.
This program is made possible through a grant from the Everwise Foundation and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

Following years of volunteer-staffed service in an empty church building, a permanent library serving Franklin Township, the Wanamaker Branch, opened in 1969 on Southeastern Avenue. To meet the needs of a rapidly growing township, the branch was replaced in 2000 by the current 18,000-square-foot Franklin Road Branch.
