Reading Ready Time - Meet the Indianapolis Indians
Wednesday, September 11
All day
Children 3-6 are invited to a virtual Library visit! Join us from home to sing along, listen to a story, see new places, and meet amazing people. Join us on a field trip to meet the Indianapolis Indians, our very own home AAA team. Visit https://bit.ly/readingreadytime for this program.
Reading Ready Time is a virtual library experience specifically designed to help children 3-6 years old get ready to read and connect with the Library. Programs will be available for a limited time following the premiere on our YouTube channel.
Our own home AAA team, the Indianapolis Indians, share a bit of what goes on behind the scenes at Victory Field. Give the kids a chance to stretch and move along with Rowdie, the team mascot.
Additional resources to enhance learning:
- So many ball game options. Try a few of these with your children.
- Science, art, and balls?! What’s not to like? Have children come up with hypotheses for each experience. Ask lots of why questions – why is this mark larger than that? Why is this mark darker?
- And, of course, there are lots of books about balls. This list includes wordless books, a wonderful way to get children talking through a story.

Online
This is not a real library branch - this is the "location" for our events that occur online. Online events that take place on Zoom should all involve registration and a link will be emailed to participants. Other online events may occur on YouTube or Facebook, and will not require registration.
