Reading Ready Time is a virtual library experience specifically designed to help children 3-6 years old get ready to read and connect with the Library. Programs will be available for a limited time following the premiere on our YouTube channel.

Our own home AAA team, the Indianapolis Indians, share a bit of what goes on behind the scenes at Victory Field.  Give the kids a chance to stretch and move along with Rowdie, the team mascot.

Additional resources to enhance learning:

  • So many ball game options.  Try a few of these with your children.
  • Science, art, and balls?!  What’s not to like?  Have children come up with hypotheses for each experience. Ask lots of why questions – why is this mark larger than that? Why is this mark darker?
  • And, of course, there are lots of books about balls.  This list includes wordless books, a wonderful way to get children talking through a story.
