Reading Ready Time - The City
Let's go downtown!
Wednesday, November 13
All day
Children 3-6 are invited to a virtual Library visit! Come see the sights of Indianapolis on a field trip all around downtown. This virtual adventure supports Indiana Early Learning Standard SS3.2: Demonstrate awareness of places and regions. Visit https://bit.ly/readingreadytime for this program.
Reading Ready Time is a virtual library experience specifically designed to help children 3-6 years old get ready to read and connect with the Library. Programs will be available for a limited time following the premiere on our YouTube channel.
Additional resources to enhance learning:
- Go on your own adventure downtown! Children need real life experiences to build the background knowledge necessary for reading comprehension. Try a visit to Monument Circle. Climb up for a view of the city from inside the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
- Contemplate the city while watching the cars zoom by at the Idle, a unique mini-park near Fletcher place. Get a preview from CBS Sunday Morning.
- Check out some books! Learn more about cities with this great list of books.
- Come play at the Central Library! We are renovating the children’s area, but there are still lots of cool things for kids to see and do. Check out the view from the 6th floor – amazing!

Online
This is not a real library branch - this is the "location" for our events that occur online. Online events that take place on Zoom should all involve registration and a link will be emailed to participants. Other online events may occur on YouTube or Facebook, and will not require registration.
