Children 3-6 are invited to a virtual Library visit! Join us from home to sing along, listen to a story, see new places, and meet amazing people. This week we visit DPW to meet a real garbage truck driver and learn all about driving the truck. Visit https://bit.ly/readingreadytime for this program.
Reading Ready Time is a virtual library experience specifically designed to help children 3-6 years old get ready to read and connect with the Library. Programs will be available for a limited time following the premiere on our YouTube channel.
Additional Resources:
- Children love to explore shapes through play. In this activity, children use simple shapes to design their own truck. This caregiver used recycled materials as well.
- Check out this list of books for kids about trash to see what is available from our collection. Reserve a copy and come pick one up at the branch closest to you.
- A little something for the grown-ups – this article in the Atlantic reflects on the ‘why’ of garbage truck obsession in young children.

This is not a real library branch - this is the "location" for our events that occur online. Online events that take place on Zoom should all involve registration and a link will be emailed to participants. Other online events may occur on YouTube or Facebook, and will not require registration.
