Do you love coding or want to try it out? Want to tell a robot to do a silly dance or play soccer? Join us for our bi-monthly school-age program at the College Avenue branch library! This week, we'll be exploring coding through robots and tablets!
Join us for Saturday Smarties at College Ave, a time just for school-age kids (ages 6-12) to hang out, be social and creative, and try new things, every other Saturday. For our first meet-up in March, we'll be playing with Botley robots and AWBIE Osmo tablets to explore basic coding skills. No experience or prior knowledge of coding is necessary, just your imagination and open mind; we'll learn together! But if you think you're a coding master, come show us your skills!
Established as the Broadway Branch in 1924, the library served the neighborhood from a frame house on E. 42nd Street until 1958 when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. This aging and overcrowded building was replaced in August 2000 with the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue that was renamed the College Avenue Branch.
