Who doesn't love LEGOs? Join us for our bi-monthly school-age program at the College Avenue branch library! This week, we'll be putting our skills to the test with a build challenge and exchanging ideas. We've got the blocks, you've got the brains, let's build!
Join us for Saturday Smarties at College Ave, a time just for school-age kids (ages 6-12) to hang out, be social and creative, and try new things, every other Saturday. For our last meet-up in March, we'll be having a Block Party! LEGOs will be provided, please do NOT bring your own LEGOs. To get us thinking about structure in building, we'll play a group game of Jenga, then the BUILD CHALLENGE AND PRIZE will be revealed. While the build challenge is a secret until the program, you're encouraged to check out one of our many LEGO Idea books to get thinking about what you can do with everyone's favorite little bricks!
Established as the Broadway Branch in 1924, the library served the neighborhood from a frame house on E. 42nd Street until 1958 when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. This aging and overcrowded building was replaced in August 2000 with the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue that was renamed the College Avenue Branch.
