Do you like telling stories of your own? How about making classic tales silly and surprising? Join us for Saturday Smarties at College Ave, a time just for school-age kids (ages 6-12) to hang out, be social and creative, and try new things, every other Saturday. For our last meet-up in April, we'll be playing with the stories we think we know beginning to end, and putting our own spin on them! Through fun games and silly suggestions, we'll explore the parts of a story, storytelling dos and don'ts, and theater as a group!
Established as the Broadway Branch in 1924, the library served the neighborhood from a frame house on E. 42nd Street until 1958 when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. This aging and overcrowded building was replaced in August 2000 with the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue that was renamed the College Avenue Branch.
