The celebration will kick off at 10 a.m. featuring a ribbon-cutting, live entertainment for all ages. Entertainment includes music by Mr. Daniel, a Silly Safaris animal show, a children's fishing program with Go Fishin’ with Clint, and face painting and balloon twisting by Cinamon the Clown.
Michael Jenkins will step into the role of branch manager. With more than 13 years of library experience, he is eager to serve the Pike community in Indianapolis!
Additional parking will be available at the adjacent Pike High School parking lot.
Closed for renovations since December 10, 2023, the updated Pike Branch boasts several new features, including:
The second county branch in the library system opened in 1967 as the Westlane Branch in the Westlane Shopping Center on North Michigan Road. In 1974, the library purchased 2.76 acres on Zionsville Road from MSD Pike Township for construction of the current 13,000-square-foot Pike Branch that opened in 1986. Its design was cited by the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The branch was remodeled and expanded to 20,000 square feet in 1999.
