Adults needing help with creating a resume, searching for a job or career online, or filling out an online job application are invited to receive free one-on-one assistance.
The Career Center is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
No registration required! Located in the Computer Lab, this is a drop-in session, meaning you can arrive at any time between 2-4pm. Please expect a short wait as we assist other attendees. While you wait, consider what kind of job you'd like to look for, your availability/schedule, and values you might share with potential companies. Cover letter help is also offered.
Career Center is offered weekly on Thursdays, though there are exceptions for 2026 Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve.
The Brightwood Branch opened in 1901 as the sixth public library in Indianapolis. It served the Brightwood community at several locations along Station Street, one street west of its current North Sherman Avenue storefront site which opened in 1972. A 1996 renovation at this location doubled the size of the branch to 5,400 square feet. In 2020, a brand-new branch building, across the street from the previous branch, was completed and re-named as the Martindale-Brightwood Branch.
