Reading Ready Time - Weather

All day
Children 3-6 are invited to a virtual Library visit! Join us from home to sing along, listen to a story, see new places, and meet amazing people. Let's explore all the weather - rain, sun, snow - we love it all!
Reading Ready Time is a virtual library experience specifically designed to help children 3-6 years old get ready to read and connect with the Library. We hope this program will help them make a connection, building on their path to becoming lifelong learners. In this week's episode, we will have fun exploring weather. This episode aligns with Indiana Early Learning Standard SC2.1: Recognize seasonal and weather related changes. This and other Reading Ready Time episodes can be found on our YouTube channel.
Additional resources:
- Try some cloud writing! Get out some shaving cream and squirt a dollop on a cookie sheet. Let your children play for a bit and then encourage them to practice writing their name.
- Let children see the wind with a windsock. This activity is simple and, when you hold it outside, you can see the wind at work!
- Whatever the weather, there's a book about it! Try this snowy stories or enjoy books all about rain.

Online
This is not a real library branch - this is the "location" for our events that occur online. Online events that take place on Zoom should all involve registration and a link will be emailed to participants. Other online events may occur on YouTube or Facebook, and will not require registration.
