Join us for a talk with author and U.S. Army veteran Brice A. Tressler, who will discuss his World War II novel Thomas and Michael and his experience of getting published.
The book follows an American soldier who discovers he has a twin brother in Germany and undertakes a dangerous journey across multiple fronts to find him. Blending historical detail with an intimate family story, the novel explores identity, loyalty, and the human cost of war.
Brice A. Tressler served in Germany with the 3rd Infantry Division before building a long career as a teacher, education leader, and investment adviser. Now active in his church and community in New Palestine, Indiana, he published Thomas and Michael, his debut novel, at age 85.
The Southport Branch began in 1967 as a small storefront in the Madison Square Shopping Center. Following acquisition of a site for a larger facility, the new 15,700-square-foot library opened in 1974 on East Stop 11 Road. Even before the move occurred, a group of Perry Township residents demonstrated support by raising more than $5,000 to provide additional books for the new library.
