As part of the Library's 2019 Adult Summer Reading Program, "Favorite Fiction: Rebooted," create poetry by artfully decorating pages out of old books. Gain inspiration from the words on the page and reimagine them into a visual and verbal masterpiece.
The Adult Summer Reading Program is all about celebrating stories that have been revived, reimagined and retold. For the recommended summer reading book list, go to www.indypl.org/srp2019. This program, led by experts from the Indianapolis Art Center, is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

The second county branch in the library system opened in 1967 as the Westlane Branch in the Westlane Shopping Center on North Michigan Road. In 1974, the library purchased 2.76 acres on Zionsville Road from MSD Pike Township for construction of the current 13,000-square-foot Pike Branch that opened in 1986. Its design was cited by the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The branch was remodeled and expanded to 20,000 square feet in 1999.
