Adults are invited for an overview of statewide events and trends in roadway development and bridge design and construction from the 1830s to 1965, as well as national developments that affected bridge building in Indiana. Presenter will be Mary E. Kennedy, Historic Bridge Specialist with INDOT.
This program, which is part of the Lawrence Branch's 2019 Travel, History and Popular Culture Series, also will focus on the main types of historic bridges found in Indiana and important designers and builders who worked here. It will also provide a brief description of the Indiana Department of Transportation's Historic Bridges program.
