You can borrow a print copy or a digital copy of the e-book from IndyPL or read it online for free. We encourage using the 2nd Edition of the book so you have the most up to date content.

If you want to follow along with the book or class examples please install Mu, a beginner-friendly and lightweight coding editor or install python on your computer. For assistance installing python on your computer, read through this good set of instructions.

About the branch

As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
