Want to learn how to navigate the internet, use Microsoft programs, and more? Join us at the East 38th St Library for our weekly Open Lab sessions and learn more about technology using Northstar Digital Literacy.
In this session, students will have the opportunity to develop a personal technology learning plan using the Northstar Digital Literacy platform. Northstar Digital Literacy is an online program that allows students to take lessons and assessments on various technology-related topics to help improve their digital literacy skills at their own pace. A staff member will be present during these sessions to explain the platform and answer any questions.
All required equipment will be provided. However, students are welcome to bring their own devices.
The first library to serve the neighborhood opened in 1957 as the Emerson Branch. This frame house near East 38th Street and North Emerson Avenue soon became too small to meet the neighborhood's needs, leading to the construction of a 7,500-square-foot branch at the same location in 1962. The Emerson Branch closed its doors in 2003 when the current 16,000-square-foot library opened as the East Thirty-Eighth Street Branch.
