Catch up on or resolve issues with your taxes.
Didn't get your taxes done on time? The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, through the United Way of Central Indiana, will be on site to help you finish up. We'll also have Indiana Legal Services and the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic on site. Both are low-income tax clinics able to assist people with representation before the IRS for issues such as notices, disputes, amounts owed to the IRS, and prior and unresolved tax issues. Social Security Administration staff will be here to answer questions and provide assistance in setting up or accessing Social Security accounts. And we'll also help you connect to Federal Taxpayer Advocate Staff for anything else you can't get resolved.
Call 317-275-4359 for more information or to schedule one of 30 in-person tax preparation appointments. Or, just walk in on May 17th with your documents for drop-off preparation with no appointment required.

The first library to serve the neighborhood opened in 1957 as the Emerson Branch. This frame house near East 38th Street and North Emerson Avenue soon became too small to meet the neighborhood's needs, leading to the construction of a 7,500-square-foot branch at the same location in 1962. The Emerson Branch closed its doors in 2003 when the current 16,000-square-foot library opened as the East Thirty-Eighth Street Branch.
