Join us for a second session of Mahjong instruction, this time led by the Indianapolis Riichi Mahjong on Japanese Mahjong!
In this two-hour session, learn about the history and mechanics of Riichi, or Japanese Mahjong, a style of the classic game that is rapidly becoming popular in anime and video games! While Riichi Mahjong has been around since the 1950s, this program will offer a fresh and brief hands-on instruction, followed by friendly matches. Led by the Indianapolis Riichi Mahjong group, you'll learn something new regardless of skill level. All are welcome to join! Registration is not required but highly encouraged.

The Brightwood Branch opened in 1901 as the sixth public library in Indianapolis. It served the Brightwood community at several locations along Station Street, one street west of its current North Sherman Avenue storefront site which opened in 1972. A 1996 renovation at this location doubled the size of the branch to 5,400 square feet. In 2020, a brand-new branch building, across the street from the previous branch, was completed and re-named as the Martindale-Brightwood Branch.
