Sing yourself silly! Join us for our bi-monthly school-age program at the College Avenue branch library! For this week, we're renting a karaoke machine just for you to sing and dance along!
Join us for Saturday Smarties at College Ave, a time just for school-age kids (ages 6-12) to hang out, be social and creative, and try new things, every other Saturday. For our first meet-up in November, get ready to SING! We're renting a karaoke machine and will have a range of CDs - from kids' movie soundtracks to Top-40-Family-Favorites - so everyone has the chance to sing and dance! Whether you're the best singer at school or a little stage shy, don't worry - we're here to cheer you on, be silly with you, and sing along! Let's rock! Registration is not required, just encouraged - if you have a specific song request, let us know in the registration notes!
Established as the Broadway Branch in 1924, the library served the neighborhood from a frame house on E. 42nd Street until 1958 when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. This aging and overcrowded building was replaced in August 2000 with the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue that was renamed the College Avenue Branch.
