Room to Bloom
Self Care through Artistic Expression
Monday, September 21
5:30pm - 7:00pm
Room to Bloom is an invitation to reconnect with yourself and engage in self-expression through art. These sessions allow you to process your emotions and experiences, care for each other, and explore creativity as a way to care for yourself.
Join JayAmi Sellers for lightly-guided opportunities to explore and process.
These are not traditional workshops or skill-based classes. Instead, we’ve created an open space for emotional processing, communal care, and creative exploration. Come play with paint, collage, drawing, and mixed media. Most of the time will be for creating, with an optional group conversation at the end.
Further your creative self-support with these book lists:
- Mindfulness, Self-Care, and Life Kit
- You are worth it: Rest as a form of Resistance
- Igniting and Sustaining Creativity
This program is made possible with support from Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

Spades Park Branch
The Spades Park Branch was built with funds from a $120,000 grant by the Andrew Carnegie Foundation and opened in 1912, six months after the opening of the city’s other remaining Carnegie Library, the East Washington Branch. The 7,500-square-foot branch underwent a $610,000 renovation in 1987 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012.
