It's time for a Stuffie Sleepover! Bring a favorite teddy bear, doll, squishy, or stuffie to spend the night at the College Ave branch library! Drop off your stuffie any time during open hours on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (October 14th, 15th, or 16th), join a special virtual "Goodnight, Stuffie" Storytime on Friday evening, and then pick them up on the morning of Saturday, October 17th with stories, activities, and crafts! IMPORTANT: for everyone's happiness, please do not bring a stuffie that your child MUST have for bedtime. Choose a stuffie that they are okay parting with for a day!
Established as the Broadway Branch in 1924, the library served the neighborhood from a frame house on E. 42nd Street until 1958 when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. This aging and overcrowded building was replaced in August 2000 with the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue that was renamed the College Avenue Branch.
