Start your journey of discovering your family history with an introduction to Ancestry Library Edition. Before taking this class, you should have experience using a computer and websites.
By the end of the class, to be held in the Computer Training Lab, you will be able to explore Ancestry’s Learning Center; do a basic search of the Card Catalog, Historical Records and U.S. Census databases; open a Family Tree; collect records by printing, saving to a flash drive and emailing to oneself; and access genealogy learning materials through IndyPL eBooks and eMagazines.

As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
