About the Book:
The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls is a powerful, emotionally resonant debut that has been hailed as "The Mothers" meets "An American Marriage." When Althea and her husband are arrested and sent to jail, the Butler family is shaken to its core. The story follows Althea’s two younger sisters, Viola and Lillian, as they return to the small Michigan town they tried to leave behind to care for Althea’s teenage daughters and confront long-buried family secrets.
Told in alternating voices, this novel is a deeply moving examination of guilt, resilience, generational trauma, and the bonds that hold families together even in the most difficult times. Gray’s lyrical prose and keen insight into human complexity make this a truly unforgettable read.
Whether you're just beginning or you've already finished the last page, your voice matters here.
