You read that right. Join us as we carve designs into potatoes and stamp them onto our very own tote bags!
Potato stamping is a creative printmaking method where you carve any design onto potato flesh - yes, potato flesh - and print with paint on any surface! For this workshop, we'll be printing on tote bags! First we'll trace our design onto our potato, carve, cover with the paint color of your choosing, then stamp onto your bag! Each attendee will get the opportunity to carve 2 different designs for their bag.
All supplies - even potatoes - will be provided, and space is limited. Registration is required. This workshop will take place in the Makerspace, which is on the 1st floor of Central Library.

The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
