Reading Ready Time - Meet the Indianapolis Indians

Children 3-6 are invited to a virtual Library visit! Join us from home to sing along, listen to a story, see new places, and meet amazing people. This week's feature, Meet the Indianapolis Indians! Join Rowdie to get moving and learn more about the game.

Reading Ready Time is a virtual library experience specifically designed to help children 3-6 years old get ready to read and connect with the Library.  We hope this program will help them make a connection, building on their path to becoming lifelong learners. In this week's episode, Meet the Indianapolis Indians, Rowdie takes us on a tour and teaches us about the game of baseball. • So many ball game options.  Try a few of these with your children. 
• Science, art, and balls?!  What’s not to like?  Have children come up with hypotheses for each experience. Ask lots of why questions – why is this mark larger than that? Why is this mark darker? 
• And, of course, there are lots of books about balls.  This list includes wordless books, a wonderful way to get children talking through a story. There is also a collection of books for kids about baseball.  These are for slightly older readers, but, if you have a baseball crazy kid in your life, they will enjoy these titles.
