Join us for a session on Mahjong instruction, led by Indianapolis Riichi Mahjong on Japanese Mahjong!
In this two-hour session, learn about the history and mechanics of Riichi, or Japanese Mahjong, a style of the classic game that is rapidly becoming popular in anime and video games! While Riichi Mahjong has been around since the 1950s, this program will offer a fresh and brief hands-on instruction, followed by friendly matches. Led by the Indianapolis Riichi Mahjong group, you'll learn something new regardless of skill level.
This program is designed for adults and seniors. Registration is required.

The longest continuously-operating branch in the IndyPL system began on the city’s east side in 1896 but moved to the village of Haughville after 1897. The branch’s many homes included the former town hall on Germania Avenue in which a fire in 1904 partially destroyed the building. After the fire, a storefront in the Michigan Plaza Shopping Center was constructed that operated until 2003, when the current 12,000-square-foot library opened on West Michigan Street.
