Older adults are invited to learn the steps they can take to live healthier lives with vitality while preventing cognitive decline. These sessions are geared toward adults aged 60 and older, but those of all ages are welcome to attend.
In the first hour of this workshop, Dr. Malaz Boustani, MD, will discuss the Brain Health Prevention Bundle, which includes six ways to prevent Alzheimer's and promote brain health. In the second hour, Suzanne Stanis, Director of Heritage Education and Information at Indiana Landmarks, will give participants the opportunity to learn new things with her presentation on 19th century architectural styles of Indiana. This program, to be held in the Riley Meeting Room, is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
