Jump start the school week and meet new friends by making Monday Night an Occasion for fun! Families will enjoy an hour of play together with either art, board games, play dough, or small world building activities on most Monday nights at 6:30 p.m.
School-aged children will have a fun evening with their families and other children their age to help jumpstart the school week while building social skills like confidence and empathy in a safe environment. As school aged children are growing beyond family centered interactions, Meet and Play for this age group helps build on their skills interacting with their peer group. Monday nights will alternate between family game nights, art, sensory play, and small world building.

The Brightwood Branch opened in 1901 as the sixth public library in Indianapolis. It served the Brightwood community at several locations along Station Street, one street west of its current North Sherman Avenue storefront site which opened in 1972. A 1996 renovation at this location doubled the size of the branch to 5,400 square feet. In 2020, a brand-new branch building, across the street from the previous branch, was completed and re-named as the Martindale-Brightwood Branch.
