Join us for our Artist Reception & Awards Ceremony. Meet the artists behind the FLAVA FRESH XXIII exhibition, on display at the College Ave Branch through January 2027.
FLAVA FRESH is a curated exhibit of contemporary fine art, presented by artist D. Del Reverda-Jennings – now in its 23rd year at the College Ave Branch! Each year, works by local artists are on display from September through January. Patrons may view the artworks and vote for their favorite piece at the branch. At the ARTIST RECEPTION & AWARDS CEREMONY, the community is invited to meet the artists and learn more about their art, and artists are presented with awards for favored works (awards are determined by juried opinion, as well as public voting). Light refreshments will be provided. Select artists will have original works – paintings, drawings, printmaking, cards, 2- and 3-D artworks, ceramic pieces, mixed media and more – available for purchase (CASH sales are appreciated).
Established as the Broadway Branch in 1924, the library served the neighborhood from a frame house on E. 42nd Street until 1958 when a 6,500-square-foot facility opened on Broadway Street. This aging and overcrowded building was replaced in August 2000 with the current 16,000-square-foot structure on College Avenue that was renamed the College Avenue Branch.
