Tom Casalini has been photographing for more than 40 years and his great passion is portrait photography. The purpose of this project is to pull back a long - overused curtain and to lift up a part of our society that has been hidden behind it for far too long.
The exhibit will be on display June 5 to June 30, 2024 in the Central Library Atrium.
This exhibit is interactive, providing patrons the opportunity to hear stories from the LGBTQ+ community in Indiana.
Copies of the Queerness Doesn't Matter: A Journey with My Friends of Dorthey, is available for free from Photographer, Tom Casalini. Visit the exhibit to pick up your copy free of charge or share with friends and family.
" People come to the library to get a book. Let's give a book and have the opportunity to change or save lives through better understanding." ~ Tom Casalini
As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
