Run, Little Chaski! Bilingual Baroque Concert
with Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra
Wednesday, September 30
10:30am - 11:30am
The magic of storytelling and the brilliance of Baroque, together in two languages--English and Spanish! Families are welcome to join us as we hear from the author of Run, Little Chaski! plus members of the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra.
During the program, the book will be read-out-loud, both in English and Spanish, by Mariana Llanos; images from the book will be projected on a large screen for all to see; and musical interludes, played on instruments built between 1600 and 1750, or replicas thereof, performed by IBO musicians, will offer a fun way to experience a new book, new (old) instruments, and a different cultural tradition. Experience musical depictions of the story as we go, including music from across the Americans and most especially the lands where the little Chaski ran to deliver his messages.
Made possible by the Family of Michael O'Brien through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
