Explore the art of weaving with your community! This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the fascinating world of weaving using small frame looms. Discover the joy of creating while learning simple weaving techniques. Whether you're a beginner or have some weaving experience, this class offers a creative and enjoyable environment to express your artistic side. Loom and fiber for weaving are included for you to use in the class and to take home. This session we’ll focus on narrow strips of weaving and how we can add a little extra in order to turn them into bracelets. Join us for a unique weaving experience that combines skill-building with a touch of artistic flair. Abby Dennis is a textiles teaching artist from Indianapolis with a focus on weaving and hand sewing. Her fascination with fibers is thanks to her grandmother who taught her to crochet when she was ten.

About the branch
The Spades Park Branch was built with funds from a $120,000 grant by the Andrew Carnegie Foundation and opened in 1912, six months after the opening of the city’s other remaining Carnegie Library, the East Washington Branch. The 7,500-square-foot branch underwent a $610,000 renovation in 1987 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012.
