About the Book:
Chain-Gang All-Stars is a gripping and imaginative novel set in a near-future America where incarcerated individuals participate in a brutal, televised gladiator-style competition for a chance at freedom. The story follows two women fighters at the top of the ranks as they navigate survival, love, and the moral complexities of a system designed for spectacle and profit. Through its intense narrative, the book explores themes of justice, humanity, and systemic inequality.

About the branch
As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
