Kid Central and Teen Central Grand Opening!
(and Summer Reading Kickoff)

Join us for the grand opening of our new space for Kids and Teens! We will be celebrating all day, with two ribbon-cutting ceremonies followed by crafts, refreshments, family activities, and more!
There will be free swag and cookies on the 3rd floor (while supplies/quantities last)
Events include:
10:10 a.m. - Podium Remarks & Ribbon Cutting on 3rd floor east for Kid Central
- ASL Interpreter will be present
10:45 a.m. - Podium Remarks & Ribbon Cutting on 2nd floor west for Teen Central
- ASL Interpreter will be present
11 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Balloon Twisting - 3rd floor east
- Face Painting - 3rd floor west
- Canvas Painting - 2nd floor west (supplies limited)
1-3 p.m. Paws to Read in Storytime Lodge (3rd floor east)
- In-person registration opens that morning at 11 a.m.
2-3 p.m. Teddy Bear Concert

Central Library
As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
