5:30pm - 7:45pm
The reception will take place on June 9, 2026 from 5:30-7:45 in the Simon Reading Room. This exhibit will be displayed in the Yellow Gallery and Simon Reading Room from June 2- June 27, 2026 at the Central Library.
Nate Evans is an Indianapolis woodworker and artist creating framed live edge pieces from salvaged and locally sourced wood. His work focuses on grain, natural edges, voids, and the patterns framed through time, weather, and growth.
Using pieces often overlooked or discarded, he builds composition that highlights the natural character already present in the wodd rather than covering it up. Each piece is one of one, shaped by the material itself.
Made possible by Danny & Debbie Dean and the Danny R. Dean Fund.

Central Library
As the hub of the Indianapolis Public Library system, Central Library showcases renowned architecture and services. The original 1917 building, designed by Paul Cret and constructed of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, was considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. Its six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007.
